Artist Statement and Verbiage Relating to the Piece of Art: This piece is part of an on-going series of antique liquor bottles. I am drawn to the tattered labels, scratched glass, and collected dust on these old bottles, which give hints to their age and personal history. I focus my attention on capturing the slightest change between highlight and shadow.

Artist Statement and Verbiage Relating to the Piece of Art: I don't choose a theme or subject, it does chose me. Combined with the feeling of a challenge, to apply a new technique never done before, and visualizing the final painting in front of my inner eye gets me excited. A slow process or the risk of failure don't stop me from doing what I'm doing.

We did a ton of advertising and the night of the exhibit, Mother Nature said, “fuck you!” and released a torrential downpour. I went outside Brickhouse RVA and looked down the road, and it was beautiful…West Broad Street in the rain at night.

Artist Statement and Verbiage Relating to the Piece of Art: Age: +50 combines antiquated and contemporary methods of portraiture to create a speculative version of myself that might exist 50 years into the future. Using FaceApp I apply a variety of filters to a regular picture of myself resulting in an uncanny doppelganger with dead eyes and a perfect smile.
