I view my work as physical manifestations of the thoughts people tend to push to the back of their minds. As if the subdued perversions, anxieties, prejudices, and insecurities we feel sprouted limbs to follow us around. The meaning and mood of each piece changes as they are viewed from different positions. This mirrors the common struggle to process difficult, and often contradictory, emotions. Although the themes are ubiquitous, my work is extremely personal. The forms are inspired by perceptions of my own body. And each sculpture is an attempt to expose something in myself I would otherwise try to keep hidden.
